Youth
Advocate Program International supports the protection
of rights and services to the 100 million homeless
and street children living throughout the world
through our contacts and partners worldwide working
directly and indirectly on this issue.
Homelessness
and street children became a new issue for YAP
International in 2004.
- We are currently gathering
research for a book on homelessness and street
children that will become part of our series
of books on children's issues
- Special Report on the
Convention on the Rights of the Child in the
United States

Attended an NGO briefing on Homelessness and Street
Children.
•
Previewed and offered general
advice on a new film on Street Children by Galen
Films.
• Participated
in the CWLA/Deepalaya NGO Professional Exchange
to India through the U.S. State Department to
improve the international advocacy efforts of
child rights and welfare organizations.
•
Creating a new curriculum and support materials
on Street Children for use in high schools.
•
Developed a new user-friendly website with information
on Homelessness and Street Children.
•
Continue to increase attention and financial support
to Homelessness and Street Children.
