Patrick John Schoof
Executive Director, Youth Advocate Program
International
Mr. Schoof has spoken to hundreds of audiences on five
continents, primarily on youth issues, including the
role of youth in our world, the state of the world’s
exploited children, and the need for collaboration and
coordination in protecting children. He has presented
at numerous workshops, panels, and town hall meetings
on youth development and atrocities against children.
He has spoken at both the 1988 and 1996 Summer Olympic
Games, the 100th Anniversary of the United Way, the
National Press Club, to the President of the United
States at the White House, and conferences and events
around the world.
For seven years he served as a national youth leader in many positions, including National President of the Exploring Program (highest elected youth position in USA) and U.S. Youth Spokesperson at the Olympic Games in S. Korea. He also served for several years on recognized national non-profit boards, learning the dynamics of successful organizations from some of the finest executives in the world. When he completed his bachelors’ degree, it was time for him to conclude his youth leader roles.
For fifteen years since, Patrick Schoof has consulted the non-profit, private, and public sectors. Much of his consultation work was during the eleven years he served as director of a management, strategy, and public
affairs consulting firm.
More than half of the seventy organizations he has served sought him because he understands how each sector operates and interacts, which ideas/resources are valuable in specific situations, and how to bring people together to make things happen. In fact, his accomplishments have brought him into contact with non-profit leaders, corporate executives, the media, and recognized politicians, including two U.S. Presidents.
Mr. Schoof's education includes a B.A. in International Development Administration and International Political Systems from Western Michigan University; a Masters in International Law from the University of Edinburgh; and a Masters in NGO Management and Social Policy from the London School of Economics. However, most of his education is from hands-on experience, including twenty years of project management, policy, strategy, campaign, networking, and education and outreach work.
