"Thank
you! I always wanted to tell you that you are so unique
in the way you relate to people. I learned something
from this. I miss YAP International already, but I feel
lucky that I had the opportunity to be around you guys."
- Anila Jaho, Former Senior Program Intern
"The
opportunity to participate in your daily working activities
had increased my understandings of how to influence
the public policy and initiate the creation of new attitude
about the NGO operation, in my country... This
program had also prepared me to increase the list of
people that I know, to make new friends, to learn new
ideas how to be more creative, and be more open to new
changes."
-
Feride Rushiti, M.D., Former Senior Fellow
Director,
Kosovo Rehabilitation Center for Torture Victims
"My
time at YAP International was a great opportunity to
have a real hands-on influence on the direction and
accomplishments of an organization. I wrote an article
on trafficking for our website and represented YAP International
when meeting with members of the community, among other
projects. YAP International provided fantastic possibilities
to learn and experience the world of policy work!"
-
Robyn Skinner, Former Senior Research Intern
There
are currently no career positions available.
Internships
at YAP International offer opportunities for practical
experience directly related to position requirements
found in human rights and advocacy career postings.
The level of autonomy/project control given to interns
will reflect
upon the commitment, competency, project completion,
and length of time an individual intern can provide.
Students

majors may apply. We require a strong interest in international
child rights education or advocacy, excellent written/verbal
communication skills, and experience with MS Office

per week, at least three days per week, for a period
of 3 months (14 weeks) or more. Candidates available
for longer periods of time are desirable. Course credit

Note: We advise you to carefully review our website
to better understand our work, prior to applying for
an internship position. Letters should state your specific
area of interest in our work, what it is that you can
provide us, and what you are hoping we can provide you
in an internship program.

Note: Phone calls are welcome only after you have sent
your résumé,
unless you have good reason. We also highly discourage
applicants from showing up and asking for an interview
(yes, it does happen).
